Charles McGarry has more than thirty years of practical experience in the music industry. Beginning in 1973 as a equipment handler (a/k/a "roadie"), he went on to become a successful concert promoter before attending law school at the University of Texas.

In addition to his work in the music industry, Mr. McGarry does substantial work in the fine arts and in the television and film industries. His clients include and have included artists, songwriters, authors, managers, agents, clubs, independent record labels, publishers, studios, major concert promoters, television and film producers and other assorted creatures of the night.

Mr. McGarry has served as Chairman of the Sports and Entertainment Law Section of the Dallas Bar Association, a vice-president of both the Texas Music Association and the Texas Association of Film/Tape Professionals, and was a founding member of the statewide organization now known as Texas Accountants & Lawyers for the Arts, which provides free legal and accounting services to low-income artists and non-profit arts organizations. In addition to his law practice, Mr. McGarry continues on occasion to produce benefit concerts for non-profit organizations.
